So here we are again, it's that time of year when the sun (feels like it's) starting to heat up and our skin turns pink. It's at this time that we start thinking about what skincare products we need to protect our skin from the harmful UVB rays that burn but we mustn't forget the ageing UVA rays.
Sadly the effects of the soothing, warming rays of the sun can have a more detrimental effect on us in the form of skin cancer. I actually know of two people who spent a considerable amount of time in the sun and have been diagnosed with skin cancer. So think before you skip protection in the morning. NO EXCUSES, An easy way is to use a SPF moisturiser.
Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery 30 SPF AGE Smart is my favourite moisturiser that I use all year round and keeps my skin from turning into a wrinkly prune. Not only does it hydrate but it has a decent SPF as well as smelling delicious and maintaining my natural beauty.
As the sun intensifies and before packing up to go on your hols we need to think about topping up the SPF and avoiding our skin from getting burnt. The sore sight of tourists with red sunburnt skin is a good reminder of upgrading your SPF and so you don't join the lobster brigade.
One New product which offers high SPF without the chemicals is the new Dermalogica Protection 50 Sport SPF 50. You can use it after swimming or running or simply when enjoying a day in the park.
Another excellent product for men especially those with shave head is Dermalogica Daily Defense SPF 15 Broad Spectrum (protecting against both UVB and UVA). After shaving apply on head, face, ears and neck for moisturisation and defence against skin damage.
My recommendation is that If you ONLY buy one product this summer make sure is Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster SPF50, a fantastic product that adds protection to any of Dermalogica's excellent moisturisers, you can use on its own or add to your favourite moisturiser. Fantastic for people with sensitive skin
